I've created A Finished Work limited teaching series to celebrate the release of my sophomore novel, HABILA. My own literary voice is deeply influenced by writers who blend the tangible with the ethereal, so I encourage students to explore the integration of mythical storytelling and craft. A Finished Work provides students with tools and confidence to bring unique fiction and nonfiction projects to completion.

Complex Characters is a course that encourages students to challenge morally binary characters when writing fiction. Characters are as complex on the page as they are off the page, and we will explore this tension through theory, discussion and an original rubric that tests the complexity of your characters.
Modern Memoir is designed to help writers shape their memories and anecdotes into a clear, marketable story that does justice to the memoir craft. We will also investigate how fiction tools like magical realism are changing the shape of memoir and autobiographical storytelling.
